Yochanan Rauert aka. VJ Yochee [ˈviːdʒeɪ ˈʤɔkɪ] studied german language, politics and anthropology and has an artistic family background. As a teenager he started playing around with image editing programs and began to solder gadgets like a synthesizer and to experiment with control interfaces. Making movies with a friend brought him to mix videos live around 2003. In the beginning with pure analog video equipment, later on with a notebook to live mix digital video. For several years now Yochanan shows off as 7dex aka. VJ Yochee [ˈviːdʒeɪ ˈʤɔkɪ] at events and thereby came back to modify Video FX devices. Since 2010 Yochanan exhibited media art installations with analog video and sound devices built by himself, e.g. at LPM in Rome and ShinyToys Festival in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. In 2011 he founded www.visual-society.com writing about VJing and video production. Since 2012 he is a co-organizer of SHINY TOYS – festival for audiovisual experiments.
